Originally crafted by Core Design, this remastered collection includes “Tomb Raider I,” “Tomb Raider II,” and “Tomb Raider III,” along with all expansions and secret levels. Players can experience these seminal titles on contemporary platforms, featuring enhanced graphics with an option to revisit the original polygon look, modern control schemes, and a host of new gameplay features.
The gameplay remains faithful to the original series, with players controlling Lara Croft from a third-person perspective as she navigates ancient tombs and ruins in search of artifacts. The remastered collection introduces improvements across all three games, including a choice between enhanced and original graphics, classic and modern control schemes, camera lock-on, health bars for boss battles, a new photo mode, and over 200 achievements.
The remaster boasts updated visuals, including remodeled textures, models, and objects, while retaining the original’s geometric essence. Critics have praised the updated character model of Lara Croft and the ability to switch between classic and upgraded graphics. Despite retaining the original’s sound design, some have criticized the lack of further edits to sounds and the original FMV cutscenes, which were only upscaled using AI.
